Jorge Villoslada Durán is a composer whose work mainly revolves around transmedia and interdisciplinarity. His projects explore hybrid forms between sound, multimedia art, performance and electronics, articulating spaces where perception, reality, history and the body intersect.
As a composer, he has collaborated with ensembles such as Schallfeld Ensemble, Neue Vocalsolisten, Vortex Ensemble, Ensemble Musikfabrik, ruìdo blanco, Vertixe Sonora, Input Duo, Landesjugendensemble für Neue Musik Baden-Württemberg, Lizard Ensemble, and Luail – Ireland’s National Dance Company. He has also participated in masterclasses and received guidance from composers including Mauro Lanza, Clara Iannotta, Trond Reinholdtsen, Sara Nemstov, Alexander Schubert, Pierre Jodlowski, Óscar Escudero, Alex Paxton, Matthew Shlomowitz, and Aaron Holloway-Nahum. His works have been featured in festivals and institutions such as Wien Modern, Limina Festival, Darmstädter Ferienkurse, Brucknerfest, Canadian Music Centre, Leicht über Linz, PlayTime Bern, and the Landestheater Linz season, among others.
He completed a Master’s degree in Composition at the Hochschule der Künste Bern, where he studied with Cathy van Eck and Simon Steen-Andersen. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Composition from the Anton Bruckner University in Linz, studying under Carola Bauckholt. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the Complutense University of Madrid.
